WHO CAN APPLY?
All full-time HKUST students, undergraduates or postgraduates, individuals or groups, are eligible to apply for project funding.
OBJECTIVES
It aims to support students and student groups organizing or participating, on a voluntary basis, in activities or projects that promote one or more of the following objectives:
- Celebrate diversity and inclusivity, and promote multicultural competence
- Foster a sense of belonging and integrate students within HKUST community
- Engage students in understanding and serving a wider community
- Encourage global perspective and awareness
- Prioritize holistic development and well-being of students
SEAS STUDENT-INITIATED 35A CELEBRATION SERIES
To celebrate HKUST’s 35th Anniversary, applicants are invited to bring their creativity to life by adding 35A-themed elements or highlighting HKUST’s core values in their proposed events. Applications will be evaluated based on 1) relevance to HKUST or the 35A theme, 2) impact, and 3) creativity. Additional funding will be provided to successful proposals.
SUPPORT OPTIONS
Successful applicants will receive the following support, together with assistance in event publicity:
- Eligibility to book and use campus facilities, subject to availability and relevant guidelines of respective offices/departments; and/or
- Student enrichment activities subsidy

HOW TO APPLY?
Complete the Online Application Form, attach an Advisor’s Recommendation and a Budget Proposal with detail breakdown of all income and expense items, as well as any other relevant documents.
DEADLINE
Applications for eligibility to book and use campus facilities only: All year round.
Applications requesting activities subsidy: By 19 Apr 2026 (Sunday).
CONSULTATION SESSION
Each group of applicants may book a 30-min consultation session within office hours from 24 Mar 2026 to 15 Apr 2026 (except Sat, Sun and public holidays) to ask questions and receive advices from the Secretariat before submission of an application. To book a session, please email to seaf@ust.hk with your contact information and preferred timeslot(s). We will email to notify you once the consultation session is confirmed.
