2022 NSFC Excellent Young Scientist (EYS) Scheme (Hong Kong and Macau)

Professor BAO Zhigang (Department of Mathematics) and Professor HE Ding (Department of Ocean Science) were awarded the EYS Fund for 2022, a prestigious fund administered by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) to support young academics who obtained good achievements in basic research and encourage them to focus on a self-chosen area for innovative research. It aims to facilitate the rapid development of young talents in scientific technology and eventually nurture a group of outstanding academic talents entering the forefront of international technology.

Mark your diary for Industry Engagement!

With an aim to engage industry partners with the HKUST research community to explore collaboration and technology transfer opportunities, VPRDO and the Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT) is organizing the first Industry Engagement Day on 7 November 2022. The hybrid event would also be an excellent occasion to demonstrate our endeavor and capability in research and development to drive technology development in Hong Kong. Introduction of the Research Integrity Training Requirement

The University will be introducing the CITI Program Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Course as a mandatory research integrity training requirement in October 2022, for all faculty and staff involved in research activities. Effective 1 January 2023, completion of the RCR Course will be a prerequisite for all research projects (grants and contract research) applied via HKUST (including Mainland Platforms) and HKUST(GZ).
