New Hires Orientation Program for Non-academic Staff @ Jun 20

We warmly welcomed our new non-academic staff who joined from Feb to Apr. The session provided valuable insights into HKUST's core values, policies, and resources, featuring presentations from VP-AB and representatives from different departments. This was an excellent opportunity to kickstart connections and foster a collaborative work environment as 1-HKUST community!

DIY Straw Bags Workshop @ Jun 24

Participants showcased their creativity by transforming straw bags into vibrant summer accessories with pom-poms and strings. It was delightful to hear many express their excitement about carrying their unique creations around campus! 

 

Projective Drawings Workshop @ May 21

Participants enjoyed the workshop to understand oneself through drawings, learning to interpret symbols and utilize analysis techniques. The engaging and reflective process enables them to delve into their inner selves and uncover profound insights.

Talent Development

People Leader Program: Phase 1 @ May & Jun

 

The first phase of the program has concluded with remarkable success, with over 700 instances of attendance by people managers to develop as effective leaders grounded in humility, courage, motivation, and empowerment. The program fostered personal growth and created a vibrant community of leaders who supported one another through insightful discussions and valuable experiences.

 

Let’s continue to inspire each other and cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive as impactful leaders!

Two well-received communication skills workshops were back again! Participants explored influencing and persuasion skills, different communication styles, and the psychology of successful interactions. The workshops empowered them to share ideas confidently and foster an environment of open dialogue through engaging activities and discussions.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Talk

@ Jun 11 & 12

Participants gained essential knowledge and valuable insights on preventing sexual harassment. It is everyone's responsibility to actively promote a more respectful and inclusive community.

Upcoming Opportunities

Various workshops and activities will be organized in July. Invitations will be sent to targeted participants.

 

People Leader Program: Phase 2 @ Jul - Aug

With the great feedback from phase 1 that have launched to Band 6 - 8,  a new cohort of the program will be organized for Band 4 and 5 and we have already reached out to Department Heads for nominations. Please keep an eye out for the upcoming communication email from HRO.
