On Dec 11, volunteers from HKUST staff members, alumni and partners united for a meaningful beach clean-up event along our scenic seafront. This initiative showcased our dedication to employee wellbeing and community engagement. 

Our volunteers not only cleaned up the beach but also explored our cutting-edge marine science facilities, highlighting HKUST's commitment to marine research in Hong Kong and Southern China. It was a special moment for our alumni to return to campus, contributing back to our community. 

Another session of new hires orientation program for non-academic staff took place on Dec 3. The participants made new acquaintance while they learned the functions and service of different units. Thanks VP-AB and the representatives from DSTO, SUST and HRO for speaking for us. Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which is available to all staff, their spouse and children under 18 years old was also mentioned.

Crafting Effective Prompts for AI tools @Jan 17, 2025

AI tools have become an essential part of our work life with its wide range of function but it only works well with good prompts. Participants will learn to craft effective prompts to summarise, simplify, visualise complex information, brainstorm new ideas, rewrite information, and much more.
